Schemas, a mental picture of the way things should be, they can be biased, self-fulfilling, influence cognitive processes and behaviour. We as social beings constantly try to make sense of other peoples behaviour by making attributions, seeking the cause for something. People who are pessimistic use internal, stable and global causes for negative events, external unstable and specific for positive events. People who are optimistic use external unstable specific for negative events, internal stable and global for positive events.
