One of the ways psychology has begun to address the issue of the prevalence of psychopathology is community psychology. Strategies to deal with stress or limit/reduce it. Things to think about: cause of stress, how patient deals with stress. Selective: preventing risky behaviors and risky thoughts in high risk groups based on the assumption that there are known risk factors for certain psychological problems. Prevention will have greatest effect if targeted towards groups with high risk factors. (indicated groups)
