Sooo the 5 senses: gustatory, visual, olfactory, auditory and touch. Vesibular system = responsible for balance (at the back of your ear). Some people include this as the sixth sense but really there is only 5 senses . The purpose of sensaion is transduce incoming info into a neural signal. Transduce = to change an incoming signal into a neural signal. Info comes in = u transduce it into something that u can think about.
