People who respond more intensely to positive evens tend to have higher well-being. Time budget: how many hours: time is money. Men are working lesser than 50 hours throughout the years. Work and well-being: to work or not to work is not a question because we have to work, work can be fun, but more pleasure during leisure than during work, cost benefit analysis. Unemployment has negative effect on well-being: job satisfaction predicts life satisfaction. Measurement of well-being: job satisfaction scale. I find real enjoyment in my work : job satisfaction index. Five major aspects of job satisfaction: pay, promotions, coworkers, supervision, work itself. Determinants of job satisfaction: situational theories (bottom up theories) What are good jobs: dispositional theories (top down theories)
