Document Summary
Eating popcorn at the movies: mindless eating. Food is composed of carbs, proteins and fats. Normal digestion: sugar travels through stomach, to bloodstream to muscles and fat cells. Diabetic: pancreas may not produce enough insulin or the body does not respond too well the insulin being produced: sugar cannot enter body cells and sugar level increases. Dehydration and thirst caused by fluids being soaked out by body cells to dilute the sugar. To keep blood sugar at normal range: limiting carbs, exercise: makes body cells more receptive cells open up so sugar can enter, makes cells more sensitive, medication, insulin shot. Combining stress with this, diabetic symptoms cannot be relieved. Recommending treatment of exercise to a diabetic that is already feeling fatigued and low, they are unlikely to take on this recommendation: ways to overcome this: find something they are highly motivated in.
