Hans selye mice were unable to excrete enough cortisol in response to stress, so they died. Inflammatory response through immune system cells that rise to the skin in case the person gets injured. Different in people with depression depending on whether they have catatonic (low cortisol) or psychoactive (high cortisol) depression. Benadryl dries up mucous membranes and makes you more likely to get sick.
