Document Summary

68% of the pop is normal statistically. We would like to call the rest abnormal but we don"t. Eg most ppl take part in taking drugs so its normal but we call it abnormal. Statistical crieteria is the problem bcz the behaviours that we label as abnormal but they are normal bcz they are done by many ppl. Situational norms (smt that is normal in one situation but not others) Norms that are normal at certain age but not as you get older. Hitting someone bcz u don"t like them is ok when ur 2 yrs old but not when u r 22. Frequency, intensity, and duration frequency: display of behavior far too often intensity: too much of the behavior. Duration: how long the behavior has been going on. Eg sadness: how many times u get sad in a week, how intense it and for how long does it last. Adopted children express pathologies inherited from their genetic parents.
