Document Summary
Not enough communication between members, no rules of relation. Looking within a group, a group represents the social world of the clients. Analyze how does one relate within the group, It is individual and group"s responsibility to take: group cohesiveness, receiving unconditional positive regard, interpersonal learning: correct emotional responses, experiences, regulation. Critical components: safe environment: good warm group members, environments that are to trust, homogeneous group is usually picked, reality testing: group members talk back and forth all around, direct and confrontational, express feelings, feedback to each other. Meta analysis just as effective as individual therapy. Flexible that includes many contexts, many problems, varied in time. Marital problems, court order issues, child abuse, delinquency, disengaged parent, bad communication. System approaches: system influenced by environments, feedback looks, reciprocal interaction, interaction between parts of system, etc. Contains units and relationship: system is the patient, not a particular individual.
