In general, the types of freak shows we see are different from the norm in a manner the general population does not see as positive. Freak shows are paid for and the freaks make money. The government of ontario showcased the dionne quintuplets for example, but now, the government considers it distasteful. We have abolished freak shows now and we feel better. Freak shows used to be acts as part of a travelling circus.
