Document Summary

Discussion whether the genes or environment is more important in the development of behaviour -> but now mostly looking at how genes and environment interact and their in uence on the development of behaviour. This is the wrong question: genes and environment work together! Without genes there is no organism and without environment there is no organism. Heritability does not tell you what you can or cannot do, it just says what is most possible for the population. If you modify your environment because you make a decision you want to change or improve your iq it is possible. When you say that iq heritability is 60% it does not mean you cannot change it, by modifying your environment you can enhance your iq performance. The story of the bga banquet: president of bga presented data that were suggesting differences between ethnic and cultural groups in the iq that is genetic and there is no sense of helping them.
