Then, the main focus of the course will be upon the historical study of the world religions (judaism, Christianity, islam, buddhism and hinduism) using textual sources and comparing western and. Eastern, cosmogonies, world views, theories of moral action, prophetic and mystical experiences. Lives of the founders of each tradition are examined both in terms of historical facts and symbolic meanings. 2) to introduce students to the historical study of world religions through textual analysis and interpretation; to provide students with an insight into the worldviews and theories of moral action of the major world religions.
