Document Summary
Overlapping questions (post modernism) in lecture but not in textbook. Lots of things, lots of tools to explain the behavior of other people. Twin studies: separate at births and follow them over time and catch up with them and then you see correlation. Things that you think that would be a product of the environment. Epigenetic tags: maybe not genes itself for explaining behavior but the chemical stuff attached to the genes. Environmental condition, triggers a gene (store fat) and only the people who can store fat survive and then have kids. And the genes are then passed on to the kids to store fat. Using the tools that are given to better understand not only yourselves but your social environment. We"re interested in this, in looking at how we learn culture. Without socializing, we cannot unleash our full potential. The roles you adopt as a specific gender are socially created, socially constructed.
