Involves communication among people acting and reacting to one another, either face to face or through technology: building blocks of interaction, social status, role, norms. Feminism take: emotion management, obeying "feeling rules" and responding appropriately to situations. It is socially structured on how to act accordingly to your class, gender, etc: emotion labour, em that many do as parts of their jobs, trend from production economy to service economy. Interaction as a play in which we present ourselves in the best possible light. Impression management: modelling the behaviour they want others to see. Job interviews: role distancing, we don"t buy into the role, we just occupy. Groups: collection of two or more people who interact frequently with one another and share a sense of belonging. Identify with one another, adhere to defined norms, roles or statuses. Similarity: coffee vs tea, you personally just identify yourself as part of this. Secondary group: emotional ties, long term, agreed upon norms.
