Obeying feeling rules and responding appropriately to situations: emotion labor, emotion management that many do as part of their jobs (e. g. , teacher, nurse, flight attendant, sales clerk, service economy and growth of emotion labor. Social institutions: organizations, and groups and individuals all linked to one network, social economy and growth of emotion labor. Conflict: social interaction involves competition over valued resources, attention, approval, prestige, information and money, hierarchy and status apparent through interactions, degree of inequality affects character of social interaction, e. g. , male dominance of conversation, laughter. Social network: networks are groups, it is a web of social relationships that link one person with other people, exchange of material or emotional resources, e. g. , study disease or terrorism.
