When sociology was developing, science it self was developing, that was the time when scientists being more seen, and regarded. Science becoming the dominate way of understanding the world. Growth of science was growing in a objective fact, based on the way of understanding the world, as oppose to a religious way of viewing the world. Early sociologists were influenced by the growth of science, and adopted the same approach to sociology. Mile durkiem was most influenced by the growth of science. He adopted the value free approach to studying positivism. It shifted from largely agricultural based economy to an industrial based economy. (farms to factories) Family owned business becoming owned by one person. People move to cities, to work at factories, this separated them from their community.
