Interconnection between life of an individual and the history of society. Egoistic suicide: feeling alone, low social integration. Anomic suicide: feeling disconnected from society, not fitting in, due to social change. Altruistic suicide: committed for the benefit of others: ex. Killing self after loved one dies, falling on a grenade for other soldiers. Suicide rates vary by degree of social solidarity.
