The superstructure is the ideas of the ruling class: gramsci: hegemony. People thought that inequality was just a way of life. Gramsci came up with a theory called hegemony. Hegemony: the idea that things become common and normal. Television shows that have white cast members becomes common and normal that we see white cast: frankfurt school: culture industries.
