Mental health is a continuum, mostly 70 percent. Most of our illnesses are biological, physiology is 30 percent. Socioeconomic factors that you are confronting everyday is affecting your health 70 percent. Sociological perspective, theoretical perspective at an illness, sociological imagination: relating personal issues to a sociological perspective losing a job how it connects to society. Right brain: emotions, art and crafts and happiness. Suicide is an individual act but lead by socioeconomic factor. How come certain cultures have high rates and others low rates: emile durkheim. Rates tend to vary between countries and different groups among a country. Aboriginals suicide more than immigrants: housing, good health, good water, employment. Life expectancy increase in global north due to better living conditions than in global; south where there is less living conditions. Living in better environments has an effect on life expectancy. But now women also entering labor force face the same problems.
