(1) primary = jobs characterized by high wages, job security, good working conditions, and opportunity for advancement. Secretaries, white collar workers. (2) secondary = low wages, no benefits, poor working conditions, no opportunity for advancement, and lack of stability. Human capital theory: education and training will significantly raise wages and reduce inequality. Turned into single mother working and earning teaching credentials.
