Positive memories of early childhood relationships with their parents are associated with greater concern and support for aging parent by adult children. Aging parents" solidarity with adult children also enhances their well-being and decreases their mortality risks. Children who experienced positive memories in their early childhood with their parents will help their parents in old age. This enhances the parents" wellbeing, and decrease risk of mortality. Growing up with single parents and stepparents: long-term effects on family solidarity. Results show that divorced single parent families are associated with reduced solidarity between parents and children.
