Ex. people who masturbate aren"t put into a different group of masturbators , it"s just a thing people do that is considered bad (it"s a behaviour, not an identity) Homosexuality emerges not as a behaviour (such as sodomy) Homosexuality was considered a bad behaviour that people might engage in (and they shouldn"t), however it didn"t constitute someone as a separate group or identity (was in line with adultery) It"s a behaviour that constitutes a problem, however you don"t separate cheaters and non-cheaters. The word homosexual was coined late in the 19th century to refer to this group of people. Homophobia became increasingly signi cant in men"s lives (they really tried to stay away from it)
