What"s happening is the shift of governing of land and kingdom to governing of population, individuals. Through disciplinary, you want people to become self sufficient, regulated/governing. This shift where punishment is going to be inscribed, it will be inscribed in the soul: the soul is the prison of the body. The disciplinary needs to work on the soul in order to get the body to do something. You can examine and see what is normal and what is abnormal. Then you can focus on the abnormal: through process of normalization, you want to be normal, fit in. It"s you that makes the decision, self disciplinary, because there are consequences to your abnormal actions: surveillance, if you aren"t going to self regulate, then we will watch you, surveillance and normalization, you get knowledge.
