Document Summary

Schools are safest place to be and kids feel safe in schools. For every child killed in school 200 killed in domestic cases. Access control locking doors, only one entrance. Schools with locked doors, which did not close campus for lunch and had fewer classroom changes tended to report less property crime. Schools that had fewer classroom changes also tended to report less violent crime. However, there were few situational crime prevention strategies that emerged as significant. Most robust predictors of school violence were the number of students in the school. Few significant effects in student self-reported victimization and perceived safety. Teacher-reported measures of crime were significantly lower with less school disorder. Studied the risk factors for students to be victims of theft or violent crime. Target-hardening tactics consistently did not influence risk of victimization. Schools with regular locker checks experienced more theft victimization. Two of these studies still argued for scp. No studies on the consequences these technologies have.
