Dominion police (dp) assumed security responsibilities in 1914. Initially responsible for securing: yukon + northwest territories + alberta + saskatchewan. Served as police officers and detectives: looked into anti-british sentiment and german and austrian secret societies. Increasingly given more security tasks: managing anti-conscription sentiments, anti-war and pro-labour activities.
