Embedded in a universal truth attached to western androcentric. Western thought and science neither disinterested nor objective. Gendered norms of masculinity and femininity were scientifically linked to the biology of sex. Sciences also tried to rationalize racism by deeming non-whites less advanced than whites and not fully human. Such thinking made practices of colonialism, slavery and genocide possible. Science conceived as truth reinforces its own supremacy. Metanarratives or master narratives the overarching stories that have long persuaded us to believe that what we are presented with at face value, what we are told holds true is so and therefore un questionable. Postmodernism makes a shift in thinking from sameness and universal truths to a recognition that there are many differences within sameness. Due to contradiction to racist and fascist metanarratives that justified holocaust and bombings. Postmodernists question all truth claims and believe they need to be deconstructed.
