Document Summary

The biological needs and the basic needs for survival are considered as the primary sources of motivation. The lack or abundance of something motivates people to do something: system variables: temperature, or hunger, set point: the fixed point (20 ) For example, hunger is like the temperature of a house. There is an optimal point where the house feels neither too hot nor too cold. Likewise, the optimal point for a person is when they feel neither hungry nor full, which is called the set point: detector variable: current temperature or level of hunger. In the summer, the temperature outside the house will rise and will cause the temperature inside the house to rise as well away from the set point. However, the detector variable will observe it and if the temperature increases too much, it will cause the correctional mechanism to start.
