Document Summary

You can"t just use one test, you have to use multiple tests to come to a reliable and valid solution/diagnosis. Neurologists look at organic disorders with biological underpinnings. Psychiatrists treat behavioural abnormalities but it"s less biology-based than neurology. Neurons are hard to create because of their types (i. e. glial) and their amount of connections to other neurons. Intractable = a condition/situation/problem/challenge that doesn"t necessarily respond to conventional approaches. People with intractable illnesses are those who do not respond to typcal forms of treatment. More specific in how it affects the nervous system than ect. Basically a wand that you place over different parts of the head: it affects the cortex by basically turning off that part of the brain, different types (i. e. direct current) Mostly associated with first generation antipsychotics (can be seen with second generation antipsychotic too) Takes a while for people to stick with cognitive therapy and to find the effects.
