Document Summary
Slide 1 pictures: each one of the species reproduces differently ! Slide 3: reproductive modes: hermaphrodite: organisms that don"t have separate genders, allowing them to act as both the father and the mother during reproduction, dioecious: organisms that have two distinct genders (e. g. humans)! Slide 4: darwin on sex: parthenogenesis: a type of reproduction, where offsprings are not sexually produced. Slide 5: water eas (daphnia): reproduced both asexually and sexually depending on the environment, sexual reproduction! Slide 6: water hyacinth (free oating aquatic, originated from the amazon river): similar to the daphnia, can reproduce both sexually and asexually depending on the environment , during high water seasons, they clone (asexually)! Water has high nutrient to provide for the clones to grow! If they reproduce sexually during high water seasons, their seeds will get ushed away with no chance of survivor or growth: during dry seasons, they reproduce sexually (producing seeds)!
