Great deal of tension between police association and police services. Police association is worried about the privacy of the officers who will document their day to day lives through body cams. A department that is concerned with the public perception of the police. Our views are shaped by how the media depicts the police. Fiction creates a distorted perception of what the police do. Policing: is the act of maintaining and reproducing social order. The police are institutions and individuals, given the right by the state, to use coercive force to maintain and reproduce social order. Police has the power to remove the freedom of civilians and to use physical force as part of their mandate to enforce laws and maintain the status quo. Early policing controlled by local citizens (frankpledge system)
