Trans: people are individuals whose gender identity or gender expression does not line up with their assigned sex. One can be a trans man, trans woman, or bigender, pangender, or agender. Cisgender: people whose gender identity matches their assigned sex. Gender: the culturally and socially constructed differences between females and males found in the meanings, beliefs, and practices associated with femininity and. Gender role: attitudes, behaviour, and activities that are socially defined as appropriate for each sex and are learned through the socialization process: ex: males should be aggressive and tough while females must be passive and nurturing. Gender identity: a person"s perception of the self as female or male. Gendered institutions one of the major ways where social life is organized in all sectors of society.
