Pick from either two journal articles to review or do the midterms. General (tax records, personal correspondence, diaries, postcards, etc. ) Historiography = body of historical studies (books, articles, etc. ) on a certain topic. Sign up for your topics by march 3rd. Search for books and articles via the library homepage. Must include at least one full-length book (not incomplete online versions, Sources must be relevant ( on topic") and academic e. g. google books) At least 5 (you can however use more) Academic books and journals articles: no incomplete google books, no dictionaries, no encyclopedia, no course textbooks, no newspaper articles, no websites. Hint they will have endnotes and or footnotes. Take good notes with specific page references (you will need these) Write down the quotations, specific examples, statistics, etc. , that you want to incorporate: research essays are not merely cut-and-paste jobs i want your own words too, you can also paraphrase. Ideally this should be as detailed as possible.
