Liberty has been discussed throughout the course, and equality both in relation to the modern man (not man in general) Haven"t lost hierarchy or equality, we now ourselves as western people because we have come to love principles for better or for worse. Rousseau: lost innocence, made a deal with private property: therefore, unleashed forces of modernization or capitalism, you have to live with it, can"t run away from it. Community not society, not civil society but the real community, the collective will, collective sovereignty, all of the people -> the people will force you to be free, compatible with necessity, so all other can act freely. You will act to improve the chances of all people becoming free. History will force you to be free not the state. Defend yourself, reduce all natural law and simple claim of man will defend himself at all costs.
