The psychoanalyst: the analytic examinations of nervous patients and neurotic manifestations of normal persons drove me to the assumption of psychological relationships and their connection with normal psychic life. Key concept: the individual is a natural energy system with tensions and energy transformations between the various personality structures. Live by what is claimed and known versus unconscious processes. The goal is not clear understanding, but the ability to generate experience felt as real, important, and distinctively o(cid:374)e"s ow(cid:374). Co(cid:374)fusio(cid:374) is now equally valued, the sort of creative disorganization and ambiguity that results from the ability to suspend judgment, premature understanding, and forced clarity.
