Racializaion: the process by which racial atributes and meaning are projected onto previously non- racial situaions. Leads to groups of people being cordoned of for disinct exclusionary treatment. Can be applied to non-labour things too like denied ciizenship. Emphasizes the social creaion of diference and displacement. Thinking one"s own group"s ways are superior to others. Hard to step out of our own culture because we"ve grown up with it. Making false assumpions about others" ways based on our own limited experiences. Contributes to sense of value and community amongst people. Even mundane things like briish people drive on the wrong side of the road. Viewpoint that the behaviour in one culture should not be judged by the standards of another culture. A way we can approach others from a methodological standpoint. Powerful models of behaviour to emulate or react against.
