Government is the largest single advertiser in this country. Media are the central vehicle for controlling the world economy and the movement of goods and services around the world. Media also introduce people to different cultures and keep immigrants in touch with the countries from which they moved. Media work to generate a global cultural consciousness through blanket-coverage of political and economic news around the world, mass sports, global tragedies, and our roles in impending environmental disasters.
