Argues that women committed less crime than men because they were physically less capable. Left women to live dull and unimaginative lives. Women had inherited male traits if they committed crimes. Freud -> women are trying to act like men. Pollak -> women commit as much crime as men, but women are more deceitful. Social factors are the reason people commit crimes. Argued that social factors have different responses from men and women. No reason to have multiple theories to describe crime in genders. Can take all the different theories and apply them to both genders to describe crime. Lines are so similar that they are being factored similarly. The amount may be different but they have the same structure to it. Weak in explaining the gap between men and women. Explains the social trends but not the gap.
