Most research in bmod uses single-subject experimental designs. Aka single-case experimental designs, a type of within-subject experimental design. Not to be mistaken for a case study. Individual serves as their own control; performance of the individual compared with their own performance in baseline. Involve visual analysis data rather than statistic. More common quantitative research designs in psych are control-group designs. Phase: series of observations of the same individual under the same condition. Baseline phase: a series of baseline observations are made when no treatment is being administered. Treatment phase: a series of observation when a treatment is being administered. Identi ed by the letter b (or subsequent letters for subsequent treatment phases) Allows researchers to describe the phases in a study using a sequence of letters. A series of measurements, all nearly the same magnitude. Graphed data points cluster around a horizontal line.
