Scapegoat: someone who is blamed for the problems of others, especially for the reason of expediency. The big blue bird is the scapegoat. The word scapegoat comes from leviticus (hebrew bible) Religion as a way of de ning a group and protecting group identity. Our monsters contain who we are not but also contain bits of us that we are not as proud of or things we want to push aside. Orthodox: ortho means correct right or straight , dox means something like a collected opinion, or teachings. Biblios means little books - bible is a collection of di erent books. A secular world is a world ungoverned by religion.
