The renal medulla: reabsorption of electrolytes & water, cells in renal medulla run parallel to each other, alongside are bvs, (cid:498)vasa recta(cid:499, this means there will be exchange occurring from tubule & blood vessel. Interlobar vessels run in between the pyramids (lobes: arcuate vessels bend around lobe in the border bw cortex and medulla, they send branches into the lobules, feeds the corpuscles/glomeruli. Morphogenesis of the renal corpuscle: corpuscle have a core of capillaries, there"s substantial d)ct capsule, renal corpuscle forms from the association bw glomerulus & bowman"s capsule. Primitive renal tubule: outer layer is the parietal layer of bowman"s capsule, bowman"s capsule lumen is continuous with the kidney tubule. They have many finger-like processes (arms: primary processes come off the cells, secondary processes come off the primary processes that interdigitate over the surface of a capillary forms the filtration barrier (filtration slit)
