Document Summary

Organism that use photons to make their own food. Chemo -> (use) chemical (organic or non) Hetero -> other (rely on other sources for food, we don"t make our own) Sulphide is the element that goes as a byproduct in the atmosphere. Cyanobacteria used water as it"s electron source which had a byproduct of oxygen. Why do you thing oxygenic photosynthesis is still the dominant form of photosynthesis on earth: photosynthesis is endergonic, anabolic, oxygen is related as a byproduct, glycolysis, citric acid cycle, etc are all cellular respiration and is exergonic. Molecules that have carbon-hydrogen bonds have higher energy due to placement of molecules: hydrogen or carbon are not highly electronegative and not pulling it towards itself, oxidation reduction. Need to know: reason why hard to oxidize water instead called (splitting, split the water and get the electrons and that"s what cyanobacteria did. , nothing can oxidize water except for photosystem 2.
