Explain the effect of overfishing on the size of fish, and explain how climate change is expected to impact fishes: being aquatic makes fish vulnerable, habitat destruction and fragmentation, overfishing, smaller size fish - Invasive species: pollution, climate change, most fishes are ectotherms and cannot control internal body temperature, 20-30% decrease in body size, will lead to deoxygenation of oceans. In warmer water fish need more oxygen to maintain body function. Describe the lamprey life cycle: parasitic phase, some freshwater, non-parasitic species skip this phase, spawning phase, die after spawning, larva phase, filter feeding, transforming phase. Identify the major evolutionary transitions that occurred in fish evolution.
