Phaedra, ariadne and minotaur are all siblings. 1) phaedra"s mother pasiphae conceived minotaur from monstrous love for bull. 2) ariadne helped theseus kill monotaur; theseus ravishes, then abandons. Phaedra is dying from the beginning of the play, though it takes her the entire play to die.
