Health promotion is the process of enabling people to increase control over, and to improve their own health. Language the way we speak i. e. you wouldn"t use disease prevention/health education/hp interchangeably in this class, but you would at a party. Community based programs have large potential for population changes. Work to build widespread normative, economic and political support. Community based programs become very powerful when people participate in them. Kindtagious participatory democracy: input about our methods, voting on the different ideas, which type of social media, etc. C. o. often referred to as community development, community participation, grass-roots participation, etc. Term community organization comes from social work literature. In hp we"re often not creating new strategies, but taking the best from past. Refers to numerous methods of intervening to deal with social problems. Kindtagious: twitter, instagram, facebook, handing out cards, human kindness interviews, so many different ways to get involved.
