Document Summary

The fight against the ebola outbreak in west africa. Ebola is a disease that is spread through the exchange of bodily fluids and has a high fatality rate. Liberia became the center of the epidemic. The first line of defense to fighting ebola is the use of chlorine. Hospitals are overflowing and lacking the proper infrastructure to treat patients w/ ebola. Many people wait outside the hospital w/ the virus and have no way of getting into the hospital for treatment due to the lack of space. Part of the problem in stopping the spread of ebola is the lack of health facilities and trained health care professionals. Msf has been working on the ebola outbreak, but have also had to turn away patients. People who are sick get turned away from hospitals and return home, which puts people in their communities at a higher risk of getting the virus.
