Health Sciences 4202 Lecture Notes - Lecture 12: Impact Evaluation, Social Environment, Health Promotion
Document Summary
Anecdotal evidence is bias prone, the sample is limited and availability is heuristic. We tend to give more weight to things that we can recall easily. We prefer things that we can quantify. You must ensure that your evaluation program is thematically aligned with the theory that you"re using. Especially if we"re not relying on quantitative data, it"s important that everything is clearly spelled out. Rigorous evaluation so that it"s not just 1 person randomly checking parts of an assembly line, it"s a team that"s involved in education, starting at the very beginning. Personal cognitions, social environment, and physical environment also play a large part in behaviour change. Based on the evidence that being active reduces the risk for all sorts of chronic diseases. Thus to implement this, we can look at personal cognitions, knowledge of proper/safe exercises, perceived ability to perform, self-efficacy etc. Evaluate your planned work (resources available, activities you can perform etc. )
