Signs: o: decreased joint space, osteophytes- bone spurs (increase bone where load is high) o. 1 in 5 will have oa in less than 10 years. First thing to give up when you have mobility pain is activity. Then household activity if more severe clean, cook, etc. Then home mobility taking the stairs, walking dog. Canes, crutches, walking poles help deal with oa. Strength of the grf o: distance from the knee (center of rotation), can have either big or small adduction moment, characteristics of your body, alignment is the best predictor of knee oa. Line from head of femur to knee and line from ankle to knee. Deviation of those lines can indicate potential risk. Oa disease has a direct relationship to large knee adduction moment: good indicator of progression and severity.
