Ideologies: definition: webs of ideas and beliefs that peoples use to give meaning to the world and make sense of the experiences, embody the principles, perspectives and viewpoints that underlie our feelings. Thoughts and actions (as people use and promote their ideologies, sports and pa practices in general become relevant because they can be organized to reinforce or challenge important ideas and belief. E. g. if we can convince people that an activity is a sport, then it gives the activity more meaning: this has to do with our underlying value systems, your ideology is implicit, underlying, you cannot list it. Rex murphy, political speaker: territory of ideology: e. g don cherry, we need fighters in hockey etc, the point is not whether you agree or disagree, but you understand what he is talking about. He has some points that you can take out of this.
