Chapter 12: social and cultural constraints in motor development. Gender is also a constraint certain sports are male dominant. Then think about japan/india = environmental constraint changes who we see as the top athlete. Graph: compares a group of students in grade 8, 10 and 12 from 1991 and 2013 and compares males and females. We can see the males are more active than females and this gap further increases as we age. But comparing 1991 to 2013 we see that females have started to increase their sports participation. Stimulus response parenting: teach lessons in response to a stimuli.
