We saw last week that a valid marriage has federal and provincial requirements: formality (p)---> license validity (f) Divorce and how to enact it: how you can only get divorce after 1 year (except for exclusions, once granted divorce does not take force until 31 days after. Seperation: live in the same hosue, but be separated. Don"t represent yourselves as a couple is what matters. If you are married and have children, have to satisfy court that children needs are looked after. It is deferred sharing, you"re not entitled to half of spouse"s stuff during marriage, only half when they get divorced. Pre-nups: you can change the regime of property either before, during, or after marriage. You can be creative with regards to equally sharing the sum. If you are common law, there is no automatic division of property, it is based on ownership.
