Training: an organization"s planned efforts to help employees acquire job-related knowledge, skills, abilities, and behaviours, with the goal of applying these on the job. Training gets people to do the job in similar ways. Changes in computers and tech improvements, health and safety policies. Needs assessment: process of determining the training needs for the organization. What do they need to be trained on. What knowledge, skills, and behaviours do we need to train on. Readiness for training: a combination of employee characteristics and positive work environment that permit training. Motivation (if either are lacking, they are not ready) : are managers goign to positively encourage employees. Self-efficacy: sense of personal control and being able to master one"s environment. Will do better in trainig with a high self efficacy (task/situation specific sense of mastering environment) Performing 90 last test, expect similar results in future. People could not run a mile in less than 4 minutes.
